Manipur Governor Appeals for Unity Amid Escalating Violence
Northeast Desk, 10th September: Amid rising tensions in Manipur, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has voiced deep concern over the ongoing violence and its impact on the state’s progress. In a statement, Acharya emphasized that “violence is never the solution,” urging the people of Manipur to seek peaceful and constructive means to resolve the crisis.
Acharya highlighted Manipur’s historical significance, calling it the “Land of Jewels,” and expressed disappointment at how recent unrest has disrupted the state’s social harmony and hindered government efforts to restore peace. He noted that this prolonged violence threatens Manipur’s development and its crucial role in India’s growth.
In response, the Governor has actively engaged with public leaders, student organizations, and local communities to promote dialogue and cooperation. He underscored his belief that a people-led initiative is key to resolving the region’s challenges and restoring stability.
Governor Acharya called upon all sections of society—students, citizens, and public figures—to unite in their efforts to bring peace to Manipur, stressing that only through collective action can the state return to its developmental path and reach new heights of prosperity.
