Manipur Governor Honours Security Forces with Governor’s Citation for Exemplary Service

Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla felicitated units of the Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, and district police with the Governor’s Unit Citation 2025 for their outstanding service in maintaining peace and security in the state.

The awards were presented during the Annual Investiture Ceremony held on February 15 at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Bhalla praised the bravery and dedication of the security personnel, acknowledging their vital role in safeguarding sovereignty, ensuring internal security, and maintaining peace and harmony in Manipur. He emphasized that the recognition serves as a tribute to their courage and selfless service, particularly in challenging operations such as counter-insurgency efforts, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.

The Governor noted that the people of Manipur deeply admire and appreciate the valour, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of the security forces. He highlighted that these units have consistently demonstrated outstanding resilience and sacrifice in the face of adversity, reinforcing their indispensable role in the state’s stability.

The Governor’s Unit Citation was awarded to 46th, 19th, and 8th Assam Rifles, 5th Sikh Regiment, 165th Infantry Battalion (TA), 87th Battalion CRPF, 21st BSF Battalion, and the district police forces of Bishnupur, Thoubal, and Kangpokpi, along with CID-Crime Branch of Manipur Police. The ceremony reaffirmed the state’s commitment to recognising and honouring the tireless efforts of security personnel in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Manipur.
