Manipur Governor Reviews IDP Relief Efforts, Emphasises Coordinated Governance

Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a high-level review meeting at the Raj Bhavan conference hall today, focusing on the relief and rehabilitation efforts for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) sheltered across various camps in the state. The session brought together key officials including the Chief Secretary, Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, and several senior members of the state administration.

A comprehensive presentation was delivered on the current status of IDPs, highlighting the multi-pronged initiatives undertaken by the state to support the displaced population. A significant part of the review centred around the newly developed IDPs portal, which facilitates real-time data management and enhances service delivery mechanisms. The portal has emerged as a crucial tool for tracking relief supplies, maintaining updated records, and ensuring transparency in operations.

Governor Bhalla underscored the importance of seamless inter-departmental coordination to ensure that all government welfare schemes and support systems are delivered effectively to those in need. He urged departments to work with a unified approach to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of displaced citizens.

The meeting concluded with a set of directives aimed at further reinforcing the institutional framework supporting IDPs and ensuring that their long-term rehabilitation remains a central focus of state policy.
