Manipur Govt Reverses Decision, Reopens Higher Education Institutions
Imphal: In a sudden reversal of its earlier order, the Manipur government has decided to reopen all government educational institutions, government-aided colleges, and state universities from Friday, November 29, 2024.
The decision, which overrides a previous order issued on November 26, comes after directives from the Home Department of the state government.
The resumption of classes will be applicable to all institutions under the purview of the Higher and Technical Education Department.
Earlier this week, the state government had ordered the resumption of normal classes in all schools, including government, government-aided, private, and central institutions. However, this order was subsequently revoked on November 24, 2024.
The Department of Education-Schools has now directed all Zonal Education Officers to inform schools within their respective jurisdictions about the latest development and ensure compliance.
