Northeast Desk, 18th March: A group of miscreants on Sunday, March 17 allegedly targeted the residence of Th Manihar, the president of the Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS), located at Kongba Uchekon in the Imphal East district.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9 pm when a hand grenade was discovered in Th Manihar’s courtyard. Prompt response from officers of Irilbung and Imphal East police stations ensured the safe retrieval of the explosive device.
Local residents, alarmed by the presence of the hand grenade, gathered at the scene, expressing concern over the potential danger it posed. However, authorities were able to calm the situation and alleviate fears.
A case related to this incident has been filed at the Irilbung police station as investigations into the matter continue.
