Northeast Desk, 12th June: On Tuesday evening around 8:00 pm, a grenade exploded outside the residence of Dr. Amit in Bamon Leikai, located in the Imphal East District. The explosion caused significant damage, completely destroying a nearby four-wheeler and inciting panic among local residents.
In addition to the explosion, an unexploded grenade was discovered at the scene, prompting immediate action from law enforcement. Police officials promptly arrived to secure the area and initiate an investigation into the incident. The Manipur Police Bomb Disposal Squad was also deployed and successfully defused the unexploded grenade, averting further potential harm.
Currently, the motive behind the attack and the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover more details and ensure the safety of the neighborhood.
