Manipur: Imphal East Witnesses Peaceful Re-Polling with 73% Voter Turnout, says DC

Northeast Desk, 22nd April: Imphal East District Commissioner, Khumanthem Diana Devi, confirmed on April 22 that re-polling across 11 polling booths in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency is progressing peacefully, with a remarkable 73 percent voter turnout recorded until 3 pm.

Since the commencement of voting at 7 am, voters have actively participated in the electoral process, expressing satisfaction at the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights once again. The voting will continue until 5 pm, with authorities optimistic about achieving a substantial turnout.

Devi assured the electorate of adequate security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of re-polling, emphasizing the Election Commission’s commitment to upholding democratic principles and facilitating a fair and secure electoral environment.

As of the latest report at 3 pm, no incidents of violence have been reported, indicating a peaceful and uninterrupted electoral process within the Imphal East district. The update reflects a concerted effort to uphold democratic norms and ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
