Manipur imposes lockdown for 10 days
Guwahati: The Government of Manipur has decided to impose a total lockdown in the state for 10 days in an attempt to break the COVID-19 transmission chain.
The decision was made in view of precaution as there are reports of the Delta variant making its way to India and also as there were several cases of the virus in the state being on the rise.
The State Health Department stated that this step is necessary to break the COVID-19 transmission. Strict measures are taken to break the chain or there might be a burst out into another dangerous situation as the graph of the positivity is rising higher day by day.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh further announced that all institutions will be closed during the curfew except essential services.
He also urged the people of Manipur to cooperate with the decision and to take safety measures to tackle COVID-19 issues.
