Manipur: Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer Abducted from Residence in Thoubal district
Northeast Desk, 8th March: In a troubling incident, a serving Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army, Konsam Kheda Singh, was abducted from his home in Manipur’s Thoubal district by unidentified individuals on Friday.
Reports indicate that Singh, a resident of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, was on leave at the time of the abduction. The perpetrators forcibly entered his home around 9 am, forcibly took him into a vehicle, and fled the scene.
While the motive behind the abduction remains unclear, initial reports suggest a possible extortion case, as Singh’s family had reportedly received threats in the past.
Upon receiving the news, security agencies have launched a coordinated search operation to locate and rescue the abducted JCO. Currently, thorough checks of all vehicles on National Highway 102 are underway as part of the effort.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident, and further details are awaited as the situation develops. The safety and swift rescue of Konsam Kheda Singh remain a top priority for the security forces involved in the operation.
