Manipur: Jiribam District Administration Ensures Relief Camps’ Smooth Operation Amidst Displacement
Northeast Desk, 13th June: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, the Jiribam District Administration has undertaken proactive measures to oversee and manage relief camps, ensuring the well-being of displaced individuals.
A dedicated team is conducting round-the-clock inspections and engaging with residents of the camps to identify and address any gaps in provisions. The district administration, according to a release from the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, is committed to meeting the needs of all individuals in the relief camps.
Today, the Jiribam relief team distributed essential daily items across various camps, ensuring access to necessary resources during these challenging times. Moreover, educational activities from pre-primary to class VIII at Chingdong Leikai UPS are set to resume tomorrow, with teachers instructed to fulfill their duties promptly. Required textbooks and stationery will be delivered without delay.
Additionally, the ICDS project has provided supplementary nutrition to inmates at the Multipurpose Sport Complex Bidyanagar Relief Camp, underscoring efforts to cater to nutritional needs.
Currently, there are 943 inmates across seven relief camps in Jiribam, including 353 children, 199 men, and 391 women, as reported.
