Manipur: Joujangtek Chief Denies Village Link to Missing Youth Case

Imphal: Joujangtek village leader, Henkhopao Haokip, has firmly rejected claims that his community had any role in the disappearance of 20-year-old Luwangthem Mukesh, who vanished from Keishampat Leimajam Leikai.

Haokip dismissed the accusations, leveled by Republican Party of India (Athawale) Secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam, as entirely without merit and deceptive.

In a formal declaration addressing the situation, Haokip emphasized that Joujangtek is situated within the Noney district and maintains no association with the ongoing investigation.

“I wish to unequivocally state that our village possesses zero involvement in this regrettable event,” Haokip asserted. “These groundless allegations seem designed to damage the reputation of Joujangtek.”

Mukesh was last sighted leaving his residence at approximately 2 PM the previous day, with his last confirmed location identified as Chinikhul in the Bishnupur district. His family, in collaboration with local law enforcement, is currently conducting an intensive search.

The public is implored to provide any pertinent details that could aid in securing Mukesh’s safe return.
