Manipur: Juvenile Arrested in Churachandpur Following Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor Girl

Imphal: Manipur Police have apprehended a juvenile in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl hailing from the Chandel district. The incident has prompted a swift response from law enforcement officials in the region.

The young victim, who is currently residing in Churachandpur, was admitted to the District Hospital within the same district after reportedly undergoing the traumatic assault. Police sources confirmed the admission and the nature of the incident.

Upon receiving the distressing information on April 4th, dedicated teams from the Manipur Police, including personnel from the Women Police Station in Churachandpur, immediately mobilized. They reached the hospital to commence a thorough enquiry into the matter.

Based on the initial stages of the investigation, law enforcement personnel successfully identified the alleged perpetrator. Subsequently, comprehensive search operations were launched, targeting various locations within the town suspected to have connections to the individual.

Later in the evening of the same day, the persistent efforts of the police yielded results. A Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) was successfully apprehended from the Zion Veng area, which falls under the Tuibong Sub-Division of Churachandpur district.

Authorities have confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation into the serious allegations is currently underway. Additional details regarding the case are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
