Manipur: Kangpokpi Police Issue Stern Warning Against Attending “Fictitious Organisation” Meeting
Kangpokpi, Manipur – The district police of Kangpokpi has issued a firm directive to its personnel, explicitly forbidding them from attending a meeting convened by an entity it has labeled as a “fictitious organisation.”
The police department has further cautioned that any uniformed personnel found participating in the said meeting will face stringent disciplinary action.
According to an official statement released by the Kangpokpi district police, information circulating on social media indicates that the Kangchup Area Protection and Development Committee, reportedly operating under the patronage of the Kuki Inpi, South West Sadar Hills, has called for a gathering of all police officers, personnel of the Manipur Rifles, and the Indian Reserve Battalion hailing from Kuki villages within the Kangchup area. This meeting is reportedly scheduled for April 30th.
The police statement unequivocally declares the announcement made by this purported organisation as illegal. It reiterates that the directive applies to all personnel within the district and that non-compliance will be treated as a serious breach of service conduct, leading to immediate and severe disciplinary measures.
Meanwhile, the Meitei Heritage Society has voiced its deep concern regarding the prevailing law and order situation in the state. The society issued a statement asserting that the act of summoning police personnel for a meeting by a non-official body is a blatant “mockery of India and democracy,” highlighting the potential implications for the integrity of the state’s security apparatus.
