In a major relief for residents of Manipur, the state government has decided to lift the temporary suspension of internet services in several districts. The decision, which comes into effect immediately, was taken after a thorough assessment of the prevailing law and order situation.
The affected districts include Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Jiribam, and Pherzawl. The internet ban was imposed earlier this year as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors that could exacerbate tensions.
While the lifting of the ban is a welcome development, authorities have urged citizens to use the internet responsibly and avoid sharing any content that could incite violence or disturb public peace. They have also warned that any misuse of the internet may lead to further restrictions.
