Manipur: Makui Village Authority Extends Gratitude for Successful Healthcare Camp
Northeast Desk, 15th April: The Makui Village Authority extended its heartfelt gratitude to various organizations and individuals for their invaluable support in organizing a highly successful healthcare camp on April 15, 2024. Sponsored by the Gynae Oncology Unit of the Department of Obs & Gynae at JNIMS, Imphal, and Sanjeevani, in collaboration with New Tech Laboratory & Drug & Doses, the camp exemplified selfless voluntary healthcare services offered free of charge.
Located in Sub Division T. Waichong, District Kangpokpi, Manipur, the camp catered to the healthcare needs of more than 250 patients from the surrounding areas. Among the services provided, over 200 patients received free ultrasound screenings, while approximately 80 Pap smears and over 200 RBS screenings were conducted. The medical team was led by Dr. Ishor Kharel and Dr. Helen Kamei, Head of Gynae Onco Unit at JNIMS, with support from Dr. Callista, Dr. Tanusshree, and a Post Graduate Resident (PGT, OBG JNIMS) from JNIMS.
The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the dedicated healthcare professionals and volunteers who selflessly assisted patients during the camp. Special appreciation was extended to Sister Maisongdinliu Abonmai, Balaram Kharel, Dinesh Basnet, and Roshan Kharel for their unwavering commitment and support.
The success of the healthcare camp underscored the importance of community-wide collaboration in improving healthcare access and empowering residents, particularly those in remote areas. In addition to expressing gratitude, the villagers also appealed to the concerned authorities to improve the motorability of roads in the area, recognizing the significance of infrastructure development for the welfare of all residents.
