Manipur: Naga body Condemns Unprovoked Attack, Urges Neutrality Amidst Violence

Northeast Desk, 23rd November: The Konsaram Village Authority (KVA) and Konsaram Naga Women Union strongly condemn the unprovoked attack on civilians in Kangpokpi district of Manipur, resulting in the tragic death of two Kuki-Zo individuals on November 20, 2023.

The Naga body emphasizes its commitment to neutrality in the ongoing violence while warning warring communities to stay away from Naga areas.

The Naga body vehemently denounces the ‘act of terror’ orchestrated by Kuki militants, in collaboration with 30 Assam Rifles, targeting Naga villages.

They express deep concern over the indiscriminate firing and threats directed at women and children, terming it a violation of human rights. The collaboration between security forces and militants to create fear among innocent Naga villagers is strongly condemned.

In a press release, the Naga body calls for an immediate cessation of all combing operations in Naga areas conducted by Indian security forces in collaboration with Kuki militants. They urge citizens to condemn such acts and stress the need for accountability and respect for the rights of hill people in the region.
