Manipur Police Apprehends Three Militants, Recovers Arms and Ammunition
Imphal: The Manipur police on February 8th successfully apprehended three active militants belonging to different banned outfits in Imphal-West district.
Two members of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF – Pambei) were arrested from Narankonjil near Chandranadi Village.
Identified as Khoisnam Ronaldo Singh (23) and Soram Ngouba Meitei (30), these individuals were actively involved in extortion activities targeting the general public, government officials, and shopkeepers in the Greater Imphal areas.
Furthermore, they were implicated in the illegal smuggling of arms and ammunition for extortion purposes.
During the arrest, the police recovered a .32 Pistol with a magazine, a two-wheeler vehicle, two mobile phones, and a wallet containing Rs. 3120.
In a separate operation, the police apprehended Ningthoujam Khamba (52), an active member of RPF/PLA, from Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak Machin near the Public toilet under City-PS, Imphal-West district.
Khamba was involved in extortion activities targeting rented houses and shops in Nagamapal and Uripok areas.
The police recovered a two-wheeler, two mobile handsets, a wallet containing Rs 510, and an Aadhaar card from his possession.
