Manipur Police Arrest Four KYKL Militants in Connection with Abduction and Assault of Railway Driver

Manipur Police have successfully conducted a raid in connection with the abduction and assault of 23-year-old railway driver, Joshua Kamei, from Kambiron (Puiluan Village), Noney. The operation took place on November 7 at a suspected hideout in Urup Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District.

During the raid, police apprehended four members of the banned militant group KYKL (SOREPA). The arrested individuals were identified as Hijam Nikhil Singh (27), Hijam Thanglen Meitei (30), Thongam Ningthem Singh (32), and Gobin Elangbam (29).

Police recovered several items from the hideout, including an SLR (Self-Loading Rifle), a .303 rifle, two Maruti Gypsy vehicles, and other incriminating materials. In addition to the arms and vehicles, authorities also rescued two drug users who had been held captive by the suspects.

The investigation into the abduction and assault case is ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and track down further suspects.
