Manipur Police Detains Underground Group Member, Seizes Ammunition and Explosives
Northeast Desk, 23rd October: In a significant operation, Manipur Police took an active member of an underground group into custody on October 22 within the Imphal West district. The detainee was found in possession of a cache of ammunition and explosives.
A substantial haul of live rounds included 68 rounds of 40 mm Lathode Ammunition (UBGL), 573 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition, 294 rounds of 5.56 live ammunition, and 379 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition were successfully recovered from the individual.
The detained person, alongside the confiscated items, was promptly transferred to the custody of the Imphal West district police. Subsequently, he was remanded into police custody for further legal proceedings. This operation reflects the police’s continuous efforts to maintain safety and security in the region.
