Manipur Police Facilitate Safe Passage of 352 Vehicles on National Highway 2 Amid Security Operations
Imphal– The Manipur Police successfully facilitated the movement of 352 vehicles carrying essential goods along National Highway 2, ensuring the safe passage of goods to the region amid ongoing security measures.
In an effort to maintain peace and prevent incidents across Manipur, security forces have intensified their presence in both hill and valley districts.
They have conducted regular search operations and area domination exercises, focusing on fringe and vulnerable areas.
Security officials have implemented strict measures, including providing a security convoy in sensitive stretches along the highway to guarantee the safe movement of vehicles.
Additionally, a network of 110 Nakas (checkpoints) has been established in various districts across the hill and valley areas to monitor and control movement, further reinforcing security in the region.
Despite these heightened measures, no detentions were reported in connection with violations or other related incidents.
In a separate event, two vacant farmhouses owned by L. Somorendro, the head of Hilghat Gram Panchayat, were set on fire late Saturday night, October 19, in the Jiribam district. Suspected militants are believed to be responsible for the arson, which targeted the properties in the Nungkhal area. Security forces responded swiftly, securing the area and launching a thorough investigation.
Authorities are working to uncover the motive behind the attack, and further details are expected as the investigation continues.
