Manipur Police Nab Assailant in Scissors Attack, Crack Down on Traffic Violations

Imphal, Manipur – The Manipur Police have apprehended a 29-year-old man following an alleged assault on a woman near Ibohal Cycle in Paona Bazar.

The accused has been identified as Khuraijam Davish Singh, a resident of Sagolband Salam Leikai, Imphal West. He was taken into custody yesterday, May 4th, in connection with the attack involving a pair of scissors.

The victim of the alleged assault received immediate medical attention and was transported to Raj Medicity Hospital. Medical sources indicate that her condition is currently stable. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a separate operation aimed at ensuring road safety and order, the Imphal East District police conducted a special enforcement drive targeting two-wheeler riders on Saturday. This initiative resulted in the detention of more than 200 motorcycles due to incomplete documentation. The impounded vehicles have been distributed across various police stations for thorough verification, and officials have indicated the possibility of further seizures depending on the findings.

Furthermore, the ongoing campaign against unlawful activities yielded the recovery of three vehicles that were either stolen or snatched on Friday, May 3rd. As part of the same proactive measures, law enforcement officials enforced traffic regulations by removing tinted films from the windows of 43 vehicles found to be in violation. These multi-pronged efforts underscore the Manipur Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order within the state.
