Manipur Police Nabs Trio in Ithai Bazaar Abduction Case

Bishnupur police have successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in the abduction and assault of Moirangmayum Khagemba Singh, a 24-year-old resident of Ithai Bazaar. The victim was reportedly picked up and subjected to a beating by unidentified persons in Keirenphabi village, subsequently requiring hospitalisation for his injuries.

Acting swiftly on the information, law enforcement personnel cordoned off several suspected locations, leading to the arrests. The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Koijam Roshan Meitei (32) of Pukhao Iranpham, currently residing at Moirang PWD Leirak; Haobijam Somokanta Singh (31) of Sunusiphai Maka Leikai; and Kongjengbam Napoleon Singh (26) of Phougakchao Ikhai, who is presently staying at Moirang Lamkhai Relief Camp. A thorough investigation is presently underway to ascertain the motive behind this disturbing incident.

In other news, Manipur Police continued their stringent enforcement of traffic regulations, detaining 15 vehicles yesterday, July 18, 2025, for various infractions. These included instances of driving without a valid Registration Certificate (RC) and vehicles operating without proper number plates. Furthermore, police personnel also conducted a drive to remove tinted films from 22 vehicles found to be in violation of existing rules.
