Manipur Police Net Three More in Physics Paper Leak Case
Imphal: In a significant development concerning the compromised Class XII COHSEM Physics examination, the Manipur Police have apprehended three additional suspects, expanding the scope of their ongoing investigation. These arrests solidify the police’s commitment to dismantling the network responsible for the egregious leak.
The latest individuals taken into custody have been identified as Khangembam Arundas Singh, Laishram Prabin Singh, and Sapam Shivdutta Singh. Khangembam Arundas Singh, a 60-year-old Assistant Professor of Economics at YK College, held the critical position of Supervisory Officer at Paradise English School, Thoubal Exam Centre. Laishram Prabin Singh, 31, and Sapam Shivdutta Singh, 35, both Biology teachers at Paradise English School, played pivotal roles as a teacher and Officer-In-Charge of the same examination centre, respectively.
Law enforcement officials have disclosed that these three individuals formed the core of the operation that facilitated the unauthorized dissemination of the Physics question paper. During the arrests, police seized mobile phones and other potentially incriminating materials, which are now undergoing forensic analysis to bolster the evidence against the accused.
The investigation is progressing at a rapid pace, with authorities diligently pursuing all leads and examining witness testimonies to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy. The police have reaffirmed their unwavering resolve to prosecute all individuals involved to the fullest extent of the law, ensuring the sanctity of the examination process is restored.
While the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) has yet to release a definitive statement regarding the possibility of a re-examination, the incident has sparked widespread anxiety among students and parents.
