Manipur: Police seizes rugs worth over 500 crores
Guwahati: Manipur Police seized drugs worth over 500 crores from a house that is owned by a woman from Myanmar on Tuesday.
According to reports, a hude quantity of drugs was recovered from a residence in Manipur’s Moreh town, comprising 54 kg of brown sugar and 154 kg of Ice Meth.
According to the ANI reports, the house is owned by a woman who is married to a Chinese national. The accused woman is currently believed to be in Myanmar’s Mandalay.
The drugs were confiscated by the Assam Rifles personnel. Manipur, despite its small size and population in comparison to other Indian states, is one of the most impacted states in terms of drug trafficking and usage. Manipur police and the Assam Rifles recovered drugs worth 2300 crores in November 2020.
It may be mentioned that Over 500 kg of brown sugar imported from Myanmar was among the substances. Drugs are often recovered, and drug traffickers have been found armed on multiple occasions.
