Imphal: In a swift operation, Manipur Police foiled an abduction attempt in the Thangal Bazaar area and rescued two individuals.
The incident led to the arrest of a KCP-Taibangnganba cadre, identified as Tensubam Bangkim, a resident of Nambol Laitonjam Makha Leikai.
During the arrest, police recovered a 9mm pistol, seven live rounds, and a white Maruti Gypsy.
In a separate operation targeting illegal poppy cultivation, Manipur Police apprehended four individuals in the Khamason range of Ukhrul district.
Acting on specific intelligence, police teams raided the area and discovered approximately 30 acres of poppy plantation. The arrested individuals have been identified as Peimi Ramsak, Lightson Shimrah, Kapangkhui Khashim, and Yatei SV.
