Manipur Polls: Two ITBP jawans injured in IED blast
Imphal (Manipur): Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Manipur’s Kakching district on 20 February night.
According to reports, the jawans were on poll duty in Manipur.
The reports further claimed that the incident took place at around 9 pm near a drugstore in Wangoo Lupa Marup on the Imphal-Sugnu route.
Police officials informed that the injured ITBP soldiers were brought to Jivan hospital.
The blast occurred as an ITBP team and state police officers were conducting an area dominance patrol.
In the meantime, the district’s security has been beefed up in the aftermath of the IED blast.
It may be mentioned that the Northeast state’s assembly elections will be placed in two rounds on February 28 and March 5. On March 10, the votes will be counted.
