Northeast Desk, 26th November: Manipur Police apprehended an active member of the proscribed insurgent group People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on November 25 in Imphal West district.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, the arrest was carried out during a targeted search operation, with charges against the militant including extortion.
Taking to platform X, Manipur Police announced, “Today (25.11.2023), Manipur Police arrested one active cadre of PREPAK from Imphal West District. He was involved in extortion from general public”.
The authorities have initiated further legal proceedings against the detained individual.
