Manipur: RPF/PLA Operative Arrested in Imphal East Amid Heightened Security Measures
Imphal: In a decisive operation, security forces apprehended an active member of the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Imphal East District, Manipur.
The individual, identified as Yengkhom Bhogen Singh, 50, of Lillong Chajing Awang Leikai in Imphal West, was arrested near Top Khongnangkhong close to Mayanglambam Lampak under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station.
The operation, carried out with precision, led to the recovery of a mobile handset and a wallet containing ₹1,500 from the accused.
To ensure continued vigilance against unlawful activities, security forces have intensified their efforts across both hill and valley regions of the state.
Comprehensive search operations and area domination exercises were conducted to bolster security and prevent potential threats. These measures have been instrumental in safeguarding critical infrastructure and maintaining peace in vulnerable areas.
Essential supply routes along National Highways 2 and 37 remained operational, with security convoys ensuring the uninterrupted movement of goods and passengers.
A total of 308 vehicles were escorted along NH-2, while 212 vehicles traversed NH-37 under strict security arrangements. The deployment of personnel at sensitive stretches and the provision of convoy escorts underscored the government’s commitment to maintaining seamless connectivity and public safety.
Across the state, 106 Nakas (checkpoints) have been established to monitor and deter unlawful activities. These checkpoints, strategically located in both hill and valley districts, have played a vital role in maintaining law and order.
No violations or detentions were reported during the recent operations, reflecting the disciplined and effective execution of law enforcement strategies.
