Manipur: Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing Extends Winter Aid to Internally Displaced Persons
Northeast Desk, 12th November: Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing, the youngest legislator in Manipur, initiated an effort to provide essential winter supplies to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) seeking refuge in relief camps within her Assembly Constituency.
As winter arrived early, the local MLA visited a relief camp at Litan Sareikhong, catering to over five hundred IDPs. Haokip Hangshing distributed blankets, mattresses, baby healthcare items, and more, aiming to safeguard the displaced individuals from the challenging winter conditions.
Acknowledging the early onset of harsh weather, she emphasized the importance of meeting winter necessities to ensure the well-being of camp residents. The MLA expressed admiration for the resilience of the inmates and assured ongoing monitoring of the relief camp situation.
Haokip Hangshing also engaged with internally displaced children, inquiring about their education and overall well-being, underscoring her commitment to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by those in need.
