Manipur Security Forces Arrest Two, Dismantle Illegal Bunkers in Intensified Operations
Imphal – Security forces in Manipur have intensified their operations across the state, resulting in two arrests and the destruction of illegal bunkers over the past two days.
On March 22, security personnel apprehended an active cadre of the proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Khongjom Chingtham Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district. The arrested individual, identified as 49-year-old Samulailakpam Haridas Sharma, was found in possession of a mobile phone.
In a separate operation on the same day, Manipur police arrested a vehicle lifter from Lilong Chingkham Tamayai Leikai, also in Thoubal. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Meraimayum Nadim, was found with a two-wheeler lacking registration documents.
A day earlier, on March 21, security personnel destroyed three illegal bunkers located on the eastern side of the Purum Likli hilltop in Imphal East district. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb unlawful activities and strengthen security across the region.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order, with further operations planned to target illegal activities and ensure public safety.
