Manipur Security Forces Launch Operations, Arrest 10 Individuals


Manipur security forces have launched a series of operations, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals, including militants. The arrests were made in various locations across Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, and Kakching districts.


The arrested individuals include Sinthangamba Konsham Mangang, a serial offender involved in multiple mob-related incidents; Chingakham Priyobarta Meitei, an active member of UPPK; and Naorem Punshiba Meitei, an active member of KCP(MFL), from whom a pistol, magazines, and live rounds were seized. Three active members of RPF/PLA and one associate were also arrested.


In a separate operation, Manipur Police arrested two drug smugglers, Kayenbam Kenedi Singh and Keisam Sarat Singh, from Imphal West District. The police recovered 274.8 kg of suspected contraband Ganja, a Tata Truck, a mobile handset, and other items.


The security forces continue to conduct operations to maintain law and order in the state. The arrests demonstrate the government’s commitment to tackling militancy and drug smuggling in Manipur.
