Manipur: Security Forces Recover Arms and Tactical Gear in Tengnoupal Raids

Imphal: In a sweeping search and area domination operation, security forces carried out extensive raids in vulnerable zones across the hill and valley districts, leading to a significant recovery of arms, ammunition, and tactical equipment. The operations targeted insurgent hideouts and high-risk areas, reinforcing security in the region.

During an operation in the SL Zougam area under Machi Police Station in Tengnoupal district, authorities confiscated three improvised mortars, two musket rifles, a broken magazine, a spotter scope, two binoculars, a monocular sight, a helmet, five bulletproof vests without plates, and two rifle slings. The recovered items indicate the presence of heavily armed groups operating in the region.

In a separate raid at Maojang village under Moreh Police Station, security personnel seized an AK-56 rifle, two 9mm pistols with magazines, a 40mm Lathode gun, two Chinese hand grenades, two additional grenades, five handsets with three chargers, four headphones, two slings, and a Kenbo bike. The cache highlights the ongoing threat posed by insurgent elements and the continued efforts of security forces to dismantle their networks.

Authorities have heightened surveillance and patrols in the region to prevent further militant activity. Security forces remain committed to neutralizing threats and ensuring stability in the affected districts.
