Manipur: Security Forces Uncover Hidden Weapons Cache in Imphal West Jungle Operation

Imphal: A major haul of illicit weaponry has been recovered by Manipur’s security forces during a meticulously planned operation conducted within the dense, forested terrain of Imphal West district.

Acting on precise intelligence regarding the presence of concealed arms stockpiles, a combined task force consisting of Indian Army units and specialized Manipur Police Commandos initiated a targeted search within the Sandum Hill Range, specifically in the vicinity of Loitang Khullen village.

The operation reached a critical juncture when the security personnel, during their comprehensive sweep, identified an area exhibiting signs of recent soil disturbance, prompting a more focused excavation of the location.

The subsequent digging revealed a concealed arsenal, which included a Self-Loading Rifle along with its magazine, a 9mm pistol, two portable radio communication devices, and a pair of No. 36 hand grenades.

Law enforcement officials have assessed that the discovered weapons were likely concealed by insurgent groups with the intention of utilizing them in future operations. The entire recovered cache has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the local police for detailed examination and the initiation of formal legal proceedings.
