Manipur Signs MoU with NDDB to Boost Dairy Industry

Imphal: In a major step toward strengthening Manipur’s dairy sector, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday announced the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transfer the Manipur Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Ltd to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

The agreement aims to streamline dairy cooperative societies, introduce professional management, and implement structural reforms to enhance milk production across the state.

“Delighted to sign a Tripartite MoU at my Secretariat, formalizing the transfer of Manipur Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Ltd to the National Dairy Development Board, Government of India,” Singh stated in a post on X.

He further emphasized that the collaboration would lead to a more organized and efficient dairy sector, benefiting farmers and consumers alike.

The move is expected to provide the necessary expertise, infrastructure, and financial support to boost dairy production, ensuring long-term sustainability for Manipur’s milk industry.
