Manipur: Tamenglong District Celebrates Completion of Major Development Projects, Aiming for Enhanced Infrastructure and Services

Tamenglong— Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Twitter that the district of Tamenglong has successfully completed eight major development projects, with four additional initiatives currently underway. This announcement marks a significant turnaround for a district previously known for its struggles.

Among the key completed projects is the newly established 133/32 kV Sub-Station, which is set to enhance power supply reliability throughout the region. The completion of a new district court building will also improve judicial services for the residents. In healthcare, a 50-bed ward at the District Hospital has been inaugurated, aiming to bolster medical services in the area.

Transportation infrastructure has seen remarkable advancements, highlighted by the completion of the NH-137 Khongsang-Tamenglong section. Work continues on two other crucial road projects: the Tamenglong-Mahur route and the Imphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong road, which are expected to enhance connectivity and promote economic growth.

The district’s food security initiatives have also progressed with the establishment of a Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown and a cold storage facility, addressing vital storage needs for local agricultural produce and reducing post-harvest losses.

In a move to promote sports, a natural football ground has been completed, and a 7-A-Side synthetic football turf is poised for inauguration, encouraging local talent and sports participation. Ongoing construction projects include a new science block at Tamenglong College and a convention hall, which are set to enhance educational and community facilities in the district.

These development projects reflect the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and services in Tamenglong, paving the way for a brighter future for its residents.
