Guwahati: As a part of drive against drug in view of the ensuing State Assembly Election, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) of Manipur Police arrested three persons from Imphal East district of Manipur on Tuesday.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, the arrested persons were identified as Helminlen Haokip, Gouneimoi Haokip and Ngouning SK. All the arrested are the resident of Manipur.
The incident took place in the Northern side of Kanglatombi Bridge of the district.
During random checking on vehicles, a Maruti Breeza Car bearing Registration no MN01AG8922 was intercepted by the on-duty police personnel. The officials further seized the car.
On checking the vehicle 65 numbers soapboxes containing 812.5 grams of suspected heroin were recovered from the accused, and the persons in the car were immediately apprehended.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at NAB PS and further investigation into the entire case is currently underway.
