Manipur: Three Myanmarese Nationals Apprehended for Theft from Burned Houses

Northeast Desk, 22nd October: In a recent development, Manipur Police detained three Myanmarese nationals suspected of pilfering valuable belongings from residences that had been engulfed in flames during recent incidents of violence.

The Special Commando unit of the Manipur Police made the apprehension while conducting foot patrols in and around Moreh town at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Upon verification, the detained individuals identified themselves as Khamkhenthang Guite (25), Aung Mae (30), and Aung Aung (25).

These three individuals are under suspicion for looting furniture and electric generators from houses that were tragically destroyed during recent clashes. The retrieved items have been handed over to the Moreh Police Station for a thorough examination.

Manipur’s Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, shared the news on the social media platform X, underscoring the state’s efforts to address issues related to the recent incidents of unrest and theft.
