Manipur: Two Members of Banned KCP (PWG) Arrested in Imphal for Extortion Activities
Imphal: In a significant breakthrough, Manipur Police apprehended two active members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Progressive Wing Group) [KCP (PWG)] on January 14.
The operation was conducted near Machang Bakery Shop in Uripok Mayai Leikai, Imphal West District, and targeted individuals involved in extortion activities across shops and showrooms in the Imphal area.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Khangembam Sanaton Singh (alias Sanatomba/Loya), aged 51
2. Thokchom Tiken Singh (alias Ibungo), aged 43
Seized Items
During the operation, the police recovered the following items:
• Four mobile handsets with four SIM cards
• One side bag
• Two wallets
• Two Aadhaar cards
• A four-wheeler vehicle
• Cash amounting to ₹5,140
The arrests mark a step forward in curbing extortion activities and disrupting the operations of banned militant groups in the region. Police investigations are underway to identify other associates and uncover further details about their operations.
