Manipur: Two Ultras Arrested In Separate Operations
Guwahati: Two militants were arrested during two separate counter-insurgency operations launched by troopers of Assam Rifles and state police jointly.
One of the ultras, a self-described “defence secretary” of the Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF), was arrested by Keithelmanbi Battalion of the Rifles and state police in Imphal East district.
Later, he was handed over to the Lamlai police station for additional legal processes.
In another operation, a member of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Prepak) was captured by police and the Phundrei battalion of the Assam Rifles.
The cadre was captured during an operation at Sugnu bazar in Kakching district.
He was later handed over to Lamlai police station as well.
