Manipur Unrest: 1051 persons detained in connection with violations in state

Northeast Desk, 16th November: Manipur police have intensified search operations in vulnerable areas of Kakching and Kangpokpi districts, installing a total of 135 checkpoints across different districts, both in the hill and valley regions. As part of these efforts, 1051 individuals have been detained in connection with violations in various districts of the state.

In an attempt to maintain law and order, strict security measures have been implemented in all susceptible locations, with security convoys deployed in sensitive stretches to ensure the free and safe movement of vehicles. The police have been conducting thorough checks at checkpoints to identify any potential threats and curb unlawful activities.

Ensuring the smooth flow of essential items, security forces have facilitated the movement of 252 vehicles along NH-37 and 246 vehicles along NH-2.

The intensified security measures aim to create a secure environment and deter any potential disruptions to the peace and stability of the region. Authorities are committed to maintaining a vigilant stance to safeguard the well-being of the public.
