Manipur: Victims of Moreh Violence airlifted to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for Urgent Care

Northeast Desk, 17th January: In a shocking incident, armed miscreants launched a deadly ambush on security forces near Ema Kondong Lairembi Devi Mandir in Moreh, Manipur. The brazen attack, occurring around 4 am, resulted in the tragic loss of one life and left two security personnel critically injured.

The assailants targeted sleeping personnel from the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) near Ema Kondong Lairembi Devi Mandir. In a surprise attack, the miscreants unleashed a barrage of rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) and live rounds from the hilltop of Chikim Village, catching the security forces off guard.

The injured security personnel and the lifeless body of one victim, identified as Wangkhem Somorjit Meetei, were airlifted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences. The attack has raised concerns about the security situation in Moreh, and investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
