Manipur Youth League Embarks on “Long March for National Regeneration,” Vowing Unity
Northeast Desk, 20th December: The Convenor of the Manipur Youth League (MAYOL), Asem Prince, announced the commencement of a significant long march from Kangla Fort, aimed at promoting unity and instigating a new era of revolution in various regions of Manipur. Addressing the media at Kangla Uttra Shanglen, Prince highlighted the perceived decline in Manipur across social, political, and economic aspects, making decision-making challenging.
Prince emphasized the critical issue of attacks on the indigenous Meitei population by Zo-Kuki communities, presenting a threat to the Meitei presence in the state. Stressing the need for a united front, he urged a cohesive alliance among Meitei communities to confront such existential threats and instill determination and resilience.
Expressing confidence, Prince appealed to residents to support the movement, declaring that a resolute and unified decision can confront challenges. As the Convenor, he detailed the expansive reach of the march, spanning over 40 locations with strategic meetings and covering 600 localities over 534 kilometers. The initiative aims to engage with the grassroots and resonate the message of national regeneration across every part of Manipur. The “Long March for National Regeneration” was officially initiated by Jitendra Ningomba, the Coordinator of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI).
