Manipuri Students’ Federation and Pangal Students’ Organization Condemn Attacks in Palestine civilians

Northeast Desk, 8th November: The Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) and Pangal Students’ Organization (PSO) have strongly condemned the continuous attacks on Palestinian civilians. They are calling for an immediate ceasefire and the restoration of peace in Palestine.

In a press statement, MSF and PSO highlighted that Manipur, located in a fragile geo-political region of South Asia and Southeast Asia, has experienced similar assaults on civilian life. Indigenous people in Manipur, like the Palestinians, have faced constant attacks from external forces, resulting in displacement from their homeland. The people of Manipur understand and empathize with the violence inflicted on the Palestinians.

Both organizations also denounced any form of violence against children and civilians, as it violates international humanitarian protocols. They believe that the international community, particularly the United Nations, has a responsibility to protect civilians and restore peace in the face of such unwarranted violence.

MSF and PSO called on governments and civil society organizations to adhere to international humanitarian protocols and restrain Israel from using unilateral force against Palestinian civilians. They expressed grave concern that Israel has failed to distinguish between armed and non-armed entities, resulting in the destruction of civilian properties and lives. The student organizations extended their solidarity and condolences to civilians on both sides affected by the conflict.

Furthermore, the student organizations criticized Israel for attacking medical facilities like the Al-Ahi Arab Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip, stating that it violates UN protocols.
