Manipur’s Korimayum Aslam Khan Honored with National Ambedkar Award
Imphal: In a moment of national recognition, Korimayum Aslam Khan, the current president of the Manipur Federal Organisation (MFO) and former head of the Manipur Meitei Pangal Welfare Organisation (MMWO), has been bestowed with the esteemed Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar National Award.
The prestigious ceremony took place in Panjim, Goa, celebrating Khan’s significant contributions to grassroots development.
The award specifically acknowledges Khan’s tireless efforts over nearly two decades in uplifting marginalized communities. His work has been particularly focused on advancing educational opportunities for girls and championing gender equality among Muslim women residing in rural parts of Manipur.
