Manoj Tiwari: Kejriwal Will Meet Same Fate as Sisodia
Guwahati: The BJP claimed that there was a chance that Arvind Kejriwal would experience the same thing after Bihar MP Manoj Tiwari responded to the arrest of Manish Sisodia, a former deputy chief minister of Delhi, by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation in relation to alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped liquor policy.
“I can clearly foresee that in future, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would meet the same fate as jailed ministers Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. You can cheat a human being, but you can’t cheat God. The way Delhi’s treasury has been looted, I don’t think any criminal or corrupt person will be able to escape,” Manoj Tiwari said.
After hours of questioning at Tihar Prison, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), acting on the recommendation of the Central Bureau of Investigation, arrested Sisodia in the liquor policy case.
Days after recording his statement, the ED started interviewing the senior AAP leader and one of the party’s founding members.
Earlier in the case, the ED conducted another arrest and detained Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramchandra Pillai.
The ED requested the presence of Bharatiya Rashtriya Samiti (BRS) MLC and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha for questioning in the liquor policy case.
The CBI previously arrested Sisodia as part of an inquiry into suspected irregularities in the formulation and application of the excise policy of the National Capital Region of Delhi (GNCTD). He was committed to judicial custody until March 20 by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
