Man’s home destroyed by wild elephants in Assam village
Guwahati: A man’s home was completely destroyed by two wild elephants in the village of Halowagaon, Chamguri Bakultol, on Saturday night.
The elephants, which had been seen in the area earlier in the day, returned after dark to cause the extensive damage.
The homeowner was left without shelter and the local community is now on high alert. Locals reported that such incidents have become more frequent, with wild elephants often entering human settlements in search of food.
The increase in elephant movement has prompted villagers to stay alert at night to protect themselves and their belongings. In the wake of this latest incident, residents have called on the forest authorities to take urgent action to prevent further destruction and ensure community safety.
