Massive Avalanche Hits Sikkim, Six Dead

Guwahati: As many as six people were reported dead and several others were injured after an avalanche struck 17th Mile in Tsomgo on April 4, a popular tourist destination in Sikkim.

According to reports, an avalanche that hit the area and caused a tourist bus to crash into a deep gorge left four men, one woman, and one child dead or gravely injured.

Reportedly, more than 150 people are stranded in the knee-deep snow.

Meanwhile, locals are working to rescue the visitors who are stranded in the snow. Teams involved in additional rescue operations have been made aware of the incident.

However, the Sikkim Police have arrived and are conducting relief efforts.
