Massive Cannabis Consignments Busted in 2 Seperate Ops in Assam

Guwahati: The Assam Police confiscated enormous amounts of cannabis, on Sunday as part of their ongoing fight against the drug epidemic in the state.

According to reports,seven packages of marijuana in all were intercepted by police in Lanka, in the Hojai district of Assam. The marijuana was reportedly discovered hidden within two bags.

The cannabis was discovered during an operation that Hojai police had carried out at Lanka Railway Station based on specific information.

As a result of officials being unable to link anyone to the luggage, no one was detained during the operation.

Additional inquiries into the seizure are being made at Lanka Railway Station.

In a second incident, Assamese police in the Nagaon region of Kaliabor seized a sizable shipment of marijuana.

According to sources, police carried out an operation at Kuthori-Baghmari in Kaliabor and recovered about 12 kg of marijuana.

A person was detained during the operation on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics

However, the person who was arrested was identified as Sukreswar Sautal.
