Massive Consignment Of Meth Tablets seized In Mizoram
Guwahati: Security forces seized a massive quantity of illicit drugs from Mizoram.
Assam Rifles along with sleuths of Aizawl Excise Department in a joint operation seized the drugs.
During the raid, as many as 10,000 methamphetamine tablets were seized.
Approximate cost of the seized Methamphetamine tablets is worth over Rs 3 crore.
Moreover, two persons were also arrested in connection to it.
The identity of the arrestees is yet to be ascertained, however, the two individuals hails from Myanmar and Aizawl.
Meanwhile, a case under the NDPS Act has been filed against the duo.
Further investigation is on.
Ongoing smuggling of Methamphetamine tablets is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border. Assam Rifles, rightly christened as the ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have continued their efforts against the smuggling activities in Mizoram.
