Guwahati: A massive demonstration is underway in imphal of Manipur calling for the introduction of National Registered Citizens (NRC).
According to reports, the demonstration is taking place at the EMA market in Imphal and six student organisations as well as some female sellers from the IMA market have joined in.
The protesters also staged a march from IMA Keithel in the direction of CM Bungalow. But the prostestors were stopped by the police and as a result they made a U-turn.
Later, they gathered once more at the IMA Keithel and yelled slogans calling for the implementation of the NRC.
